The Annual General Meeting and Election of Directors of the Board for the Summerland Chamber of Commerce Will Take Place Thursday, March 17, 2022


All current members in good standing with the Chamber are invited to attend.


VENUE: ZOOM online platform

TIME: The Meeting will be Called to order at 4:31pm


PURPOSE:

The purpose of the meeting will be to conduct the business of the Annual General Meeting of the Summerland Chamber of Commerce as outlined in the bylaws.


The agenda will include, but will not be limited to;

  • The Election of Board Directors - See Nominations Committee Report
  • Presentation of the 2021 Financial Statements
  • Changes to Bylaws - See new Bylaw recommendation
  • The Business of the Organization as Required

Nominations for the Board of Directors are now closed, all nominations received by the deadline have been reviewed by the Nominations Committee and a report has been prepared and approved by the Board at the Mar 7th, Special Board Mtg.


CANDIDATES FOR DIRECTOR FOR TWO YEAR TERM till March 2024


Erin Hayman | Owner, GPH Mechanical

Erin Hayman is an owner of GPH mechanical. She was born and raised in Hope BC, and after high school attended the university of Victoria. There she completed a double major in political science and environmental studies - with a concentrated focus on urban studies. After graduation she started a decade long career in local government with the Village of Belcarra, and then the District of Peachland. After having two daughters she moved into the supportive business ownership role with her husband. At GPH mechanical a truly local, community-based HVAC business - Summerland is the focus. Erin's primary goal as a director for the Chamber is to use the skills and knowledge she has gained as a small business owner to support the community into greater prosperity.



Mike Hildebrand | Business Consultant

Mike moved to Summerland in 2015 with his wife Chris and their son Nolan. He comes from Univar Solutions where he spent 28 and a half years and the past ten in senior management as VP of human resources, and the past five as president. He has board experience with the Okanagan Hockey Foundation and the Edmonton Eskimo alumni. Univar is a chemical distribution company that serves a wide variety of industries in agriculture, energy, food and beverage, pharma, personal care, as well as industrial and institutional cleaning. This wide scope gives him a unique perspective on many industries both big and small to help build a stronger business segment in Summerland.



Brandyn Steele | Owner, Luxe Valley Digital

Originally from St. Albert, Alberta, Brandyn moved to Summerland with his family in 2000 and has lived here ever since. After graduating from SSS he went on to work at the Summerland Credit Union for 4 years as a Financial Services Representative. During this time he also helped with filming multiple documentaries with a local filmmaker showcasing local natural and indigenous history. In 2019 Brandyn left the SDCU to start his own video production company, Luxe Valley Digital, and has now successfully opened a full-service studio in downtown Summerland. Although he chooses to focus working with local businesses and governments to help grow and market their initiatives using video, he's been fortunate enough to have worked internationally with multiple clients around the globe.


As well as being self employed, Brandyn is also an active member of Penticton Search & Rescue and commits hundreds of volunteer hours each year to aid in the rescue, recovery, and evacuation of subjects during times of crisis.
